What it does
Put CNN's latest world headlines on your screens, refreshed on their own. Pick a layout — a single story, a full-screen cover, a rolling list — and optionally show a QR code so people can keep reading on their phone. Nothing to set up: the feed is built in.
Every app in the catalogue is part of the plan. There is no app store, no per-app charge and nothing held back for a higher tier.
How to show CNN headlines on a digital sign
Run CNN's latest headlines on a screen in an office, a hotel lobby or a gym. The app is preset to CNN's international edition feed and needs no setup beyond choosing how it looks.
- 01
Add the app
In the dashboard, open Apps and add CNN.
- 02
Pick how headlines appear
Under Layout, Rolling list queues the stories up and moves them on, which works for people passing by. One story at a time gives each headline the whole screen.
- 03
Fine-tune it
Set Theme to Light or Dark. Show QR code adds a code people can scan to read on. In Feed Settings, How many stories keeps the newest 1 to 20 CNN headlines.
- 04
Put it on a screen
Add the app to a playlist, give it a duration and publish it to the screen.
Good to know
International edition
Stories come from CNN's international edition feed. The address is part of the app, so there is nothing to type or keep up to date.
Headlines, not the channel
The app shows text and photos from the feed, not CNN's television channel. With no video or sound, it fits a quiet space.
Holds on when offline
A screen that loses its connection keeps the last headlines it received, then picks up new ones when it reconnects.
Questions about this app
The app checks CNN's feed every five minutes. New stories appear on the screen on their own.
Not in this app, which always reads the international edition. Add the RSS feed app and give it the address of the CNN feed you want.
Yes. Use the Zones app to divide the screen into panels, then put CNN in one and a clock or the weather in another.
Something for every kind of screen.
Install what you need and ignore the rest. Nothing here is an add-on you pay extra for.
