What it does
Put Al Jazeera's latest global news on your screens, refreshed on their own. Pick a layout — a single story, a full-screen cover, a rolling list — and optionally show a QR code so people can keep reading on their phone. Nothing to set up: the feed is built in.
Every app in the catalogue is part of the plan. There is no app store, no per-app charge and nothing held back for a higher tier.
How to show Al Jazeera news on a screen
Show Al Jazeera's latest stories in English, drawn from its full news feed rather than a single section. It suits reception areas, student lounges and offices with an international mix of people.
- 01
Add the app
In the dashboard, open Apps and add Al Jazeera.
- 02
Decide on a layout
One story at a time is the default. Cover lets each story's photo fill the screen, and Rolling list keeps several stories moving.
- 03
Set theme, QR code and count
Pick Light or Dark under Theme and choose whether to Show QR code. Open Feed Settings to set How many stories, from 1 to 20.
- 04
Put it on a screen
Add the app to a playlist, choose how long it plays and publish it to the screen.
Good to know
All of Al Jazeera's news
The app reads Al Jazeera's all-news feed in English, so the mix follows whatever it has just published. The feed is built in and cannot be changed.
Photos from the articles
Al Jazeera's feed carries no usable pictures, so SignageStack takes each story's lead photo from its article page. A story without one still appears with its headline.
Keeps its last stories
While the screen is offline, the stories it last received stay up; fresh ones follow when the connection returns.
Questions about this app
English. The app reads Al Jazeera's English-language feed. For a different Al Jazeera feed, use the RSS feed app with that feed's address.
The app checks the feed every five minutes, and new stories go up on their own.
Only how many. How many stories keeps the newest 1 to 20; individual stories cannot be picked or skipped.
Something for every kind of screen.
