Air quality

Live air quality for any location

What it does

This app reports the current air-quality index alongside key pollutants, colour-coded from good to hazardous. Search for a city, choose the European (EAQI) or US (AQI) scale, and pick a light or dark theme; the readings refresh on their own throughout the day. It suits building lobbies, gyms, clinics and any workplace where the air outside matters.

Every app in the catalogue is part of the plan. There is no app store, no per-app charge and nothing held back for a higher tier.

How to show air quality on a TV screen

Pick a place and the screen shows its current air-quality index on a colour-coded gauge, with the main pollutants beneath. Useful in schools, clinics, gyms and offices, where people want to know what the air is like outside.

  1. 01

    Add the app

In the dashboard, open Apps and add Air quality.

  2. 02

    Set the location

Start typing under Location and pick the place from the list. Its name is shown on the screen.

  3. 03

    Choose the index

Set Index to European (EAQI) or US (AQI). The gauge, its colours and its labels follow the scale you pick: Good to Extremely poor on the European index, Good to Hazardous on the US one.

  4. 04

    Pick the theme

Set Theme to Light or Dark. Dark is the default.

  5. 05

    Put it on a screen

Add the app to a playlist, give it a duration and publish it to the screen.

Good to know

Updates on its own

The app checks for new air-quality data every 15 minutes; there is nothing to maintain.

Keeps its last reading offline

If the network drops, the screen keeps showing the last values it received and catches up when the connection returns.

Pair it with Weather

Put Air quality and Weather in the same playlist, or side by side with the Zones app, so people see the forecast and the air together.

Questions about this app

No. It shows outdoor air quality for the place you pick, from Open-Meteo's air-quality data. It does not connect to indoor sensors.

Fine particles (PM2.5), coarse particles (PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) and ozone (O₃), in µg/m³, beneath the index — each one whenever the data includes it.

One place per app. Add the app once for each place, or split one screen between them with the Zones app.

Something for every kind of screen.

Install what you need and ignore the rest. Nothing here is an add-on you pay extra for.
