What it does
Put a short message or announcement on screen, styled the way you want. Write the text with basic formatting, pick a light or dark theme, then fine-tune the text and background colours. It is the quickest way to post a welcome, an opening-hours note or a staff notice in lobbies, offices and shops.
Every app in the catalogue is part of the plan. There is no app store, no per-app charge and nothing held back for a higher tier.
How to show a text announcement on a screen
Type a short message — a welcome, a notice, a reminder — style it and put it on any screen. It is drawn on the screen itself, so it keeps playing without the internet.
- 01
Add the app
In the dashboard, open Apps and add Text.
- 02
Write the message
Type it under Message. The toolbar sets bold, italic, underline and strikethrough, alignment, bullet and numbered lists, and the font, size and line height.
- 03
Set the colours
Theme gives a quick Dark or Light look and fills in Text color and Background color, which you can still change.
- 04
Put it on a screen
Add the app to a playlist, give it a duration and publish it to the screen.
Good to know
Plays offline
The message is stored on the screen and needs nothing from the network to play.
Size follows the screen
Text left at the default size scales with the screen, so the same message fits a small monitor and a large TV.
Short reads best
The message sits centred on the screen. A few words in large type read from across a room; a paragraph does not.
Questions about this app
No. The app shows formatted text only. Add a picture to the playlist as its own item, or use the QR code app to send people to a link.
Not with this app. The Ticker app runs a moving band of short messages over whatever else is playing.
Yes. Split the screen with the Zones app and put the message in one panel.
